Summary

This study optimized optical clearing protocols for optical emission computed tomography (optical-ECT) to preserve fluorescence. Ethanol fixation followed by methyl salicylate clearing best maintained fluorescence in reporter proteins like red fluorescent protein (RFP) for 3D imaging.
