Coliforms removal in full-scale activated sludge plants in India

Activated sludge plants in India showed moderate removal of total coliforms (TC) and fecal coliforms (FC). High mixed liquor suspended solids (MLSS) and sludge retention time (SRT) in extended aeration (EA) improved removal efficiency.
