The EEG in pilot selection

Abstract:
We summarised and tabulated the literature dealing with the electroencephalogram in pilot selection published since a review in 1976. The incidence of seizure development in healthy groups with epileptiform discharges in their EEGs was found to be very low. An alternative interpretation is offered of the significance of epileptiform discharges in these groups in the context of pilot selection, and a plea is made for international standardization of procedures in this area.
