Physical activity and white matter lesion progression: assessment using MRI

Physical activity did not slow the progression of white matter lesions (WMLs) in older adults, including those with Alzheimer disease or mild cognitive impairment. This 5-year study found no significant association between exercise and reduced WMLs on MRI scans.
