Abstract:
AN UPDATE ON CAT SCRATCH DISEASE: Cat scratch disease is an uncommon and infectious disease of man characterized by regional lymphadenopathy following a scratch or a bite from a cat or other inoculation wounds. The role of the cat in the transmission of the disease is uncertain. This paper describes the disease, reviews different hypotheses on the etiology taking into account the recently reported discovery of a cat scratch disease bacillus and summarizes the diagnostic criteria.
