Background:

Severe mental illness (SMI) presents significant challenges in regional areas.
Effective outreach and recovery-oriented care are crucial for individuals with SMI.
Existing models often lack sufficient patient-clinician collaboration and carer integration.

Purpose of the Study:

To describe a recovery-based outreach program for individuals with SMI in regional Victoria.
To detail the services offered and evaluate the outcomes achieved by the program.
To emphasize the principles of the collaborative recovery model in practice.

Main Methods:

Implementation of a recovery-based outreach program.
Focus on active collaboration between patients and clinicians.
