[The surgical treatment of radiation damage to the rectum]

Radiation therapy of cervical cancer causes late radiation lesions of the rectum in a majority of patients. Surgery is a method of choice of the treatment of postradiation corrosive strictures and fistulas. Modern diagnosis of complications permits adequate surgical rehabilitation.
