Electromagnetic interference (EMI) from gastrointestinal endoscopy did not trigger arrhythmic events in patients with implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs). Routine deactivation of ICDs may not be necessary during these procedures.

- Larger studies are needed to confirm these findings and inform guideline changes.
