New statistical method for analyzing time to first seizure: example using data comparing carbamazepine and valproate

Valproate (VPS) is more effective than carbamazepine (CBZ) for generalized epilepsy in younger patients, while CBZ is better for partial epilepsy in older adults. These age- and type-dependent differences in antiepileptic drug efficacy were revealed by advanced statistical analysis.
