Pre-eclampsia (PE) is linked to lower T regulatory cells and higher activated T cells (CD4+CD45RO+, CD8+CD25+). This suggests T cell activation may be associated with T regulatory cell deficiency in PE.

Conclusions:
- Increased CD4(+)45RO(+) and CD8(+)CD25(+) cells suggest T lymphocyte activation in PE.
- T lymphocyte activation in PE may be linked to a deficiency in T regulatory cells.
