Wrapping a cot mattress in plastic does not explain the continuing fall in SIDS mortality

Summary

Polythene wrapping of cot mattresses, advised for sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) prevention, was used by 21.7% of Auckland parents in 2005. This practice does not explain the significant SIDS reduction observed between 1994 and 2004.
