Adenotonsillar hypertrophy (ATH) impairs right ventricular (RV) function, indicated by elevated RV myocardial performance index (MPI). Adenotonsillectomy effectively improves RV function and quality of life in children with ATH.

- Adenotonsillar hypertrophy (ATH) can cause upper airway obstruction and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), potentially leading to pulmonary hypertension and cor pulmonale.
