Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess the initial clinical utility of Helical CT myelogram for investigating spinal abnormalities.
  • To evaluate the diagnostic performance of Helical CT myelogram in a clinical setting.

Main Methods:

  • A descriptive study involving 56 patients undergoing Helical CT myelogram between January 2004 and March 2005.
  • Axial scans were performed post-lumbar puncture with contrast (iopamidol) injection.
  • Analysis included demographic, clinical, and CT findings.

  • Patient age ranged from 3 to 75 years, with peak incidence in the 4th and 5th decades.
  • Males constituted 66% of the study population.
  • Thoracic and thoraco-lumbar regions were most frequently scanned (39.2%).
