Ratings of perceived exertion during intermittent and continuous exercise

Perception of exertion during prolonged exercise is similar whether performed continuously or intermittently. Exercise intensity and duration significantly impact perceived exertion, with chest exertion lower in continuous exercise by 120 minutes.

- These findings suggest that exercise modality (continuous vs. intermittent) has a minimal impact on overall perceived exertion during prolonged exercise.
