New C-secosteroids from the gorgonian Tripalea clavaria

Seven novel C-secosteroids were identified from the South Atlantic gorgonian Tripalea clavaria. These compounds feature a unique Delta(5), 9,11-secosteroid nucleus and a 22S hydroxyl group, with configurations confirmed via COSY spectra of Mosher esters.
