Abstract:
Vertebral artery dissection is an important cause of disabling stroke in young adults, recognition of its presenting features and risk factors is paramount for expeditious diagnosis and preventive treatment. Numerous risk factors for vertebral artery dissection have been reported; trauma is the most common. This case report describes a patient with amphetamine abuse, who had posterior circulation stroke from vertebral artery dissection and artery to artery embolization. Literature is reviewed and clinical relevance is discussed.
