Summary
Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) was detected in most cases of oral HIV-related plasmablastic lymphoma (PBL), suggesting a role in its development. Human herpesvirus-8 (HHV-8) was not found in these aggressive B cell neoplasms.

- These findings are crucial for managing HIV patients with this malignancy.
