Summary

Interleukin 6 (IL6) drives multiple myeloma and Waldenström's macroglobulinemia proliferation. Inhibiting IL6 mRNA with antisense oligodeoxynucleotides reduced myeloma cell growth, confirming IL6's critical role in these cancers.
