Purpose of the Study:

  • To determine the concurrent validity of the jump and reach (Vertec) and contact mat (Just Jump) methods for assessing vertical jump height.
  • To compare these methods against a 3-camera motion analysis system as the criterion reference.

Main Methods:

  • Thirty-nine college students performed countermovement jumps.
  • Vertical jump height was simultaneously measured using a 3-camera system, Vertec, and Just Jump contact mat.
  • Pearson correlation and ANOVA with post hoc analysis were used for statistical comparison.

  • Both Vertec (r=0.906) and Just Jump (r=0.967) showed significant high correlations with the 3-camera system (p<0.01).
