Summary
A middle-aged woman with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) developed a disseminated Nocardia asteroides infection, leading to bronchopneumonia and pyopneumothorax. Despite treatment, the opportunistic infection proved fatal in this immunocompromised patient.
