Multiple-dose activated charcoal in acute self-poisoning: a randomised controlled trial

Routine multiple-dose activated charcoal did not reduce mortality from intentional self-poisoning in rural Asia Pacific. Effective, affordable treatments are urgently needed for pesticide and plant ingestion in these regions.
