Myocardial infarction in the elderly. Clinical and therapeutic differences

Elderly patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI) face higher mortality due to risk factors and less invasive treatment. Implementing invasive strategies significantly reduces mortality in this population.

- Baseline risk factors and reduced invasive therapy contribute to worse prognosis for elderly MI patients.
- Wider implementation of invasive approaches in the elderly is recommended to significantly reduce mortality.
