Summary

Surgically covering implant soft tissue dehiscences with a coronally advanced flap and connective tissue graft improved coverage significantly. However, complete closure was not achieved in any patient after six months.

  • Coverage reduced to 75% at 1 month, 70% at 3 months, and 66% at 6 months.
  • A substantial clinical improvement was observed, but complete dehiscence coverage was not attained.

Conclusions:

  • Coronal mucosal displacement with connective tissue grafting offers significant improvement for implant soft tissue dehiscence.
  • Complete coverage of implant soft tissue dehiscences remains a challenge with this surgical approach.
  • Further research may be needed to optimize techniques for complete dehiscence closure.
