[Back pain and lumbo-sciatic pain: psychosomatic approach]

The authors call attention to the importance of an integrated multi-professional attendance of patients with low back pain. It is pointed out that social economic and psychologic factors contribute to manifestations of many lumbar spine disorders and that the knowledge of psychosomatic concepts will help to a better understanding of the symptoms presented by these patients.
