Background:

Electrocution is an uncommon method for suicide.
Adolescent suicide presents unique challenges in understanding motivations and methods.

Observation:

A school-going adolescent died by suicide using electrocution.
The individual used a bare electric wire, placing loops around both wrists.
The electrocution was initiated by plugging the cable into a socket using their foot while seated in an armchair.

Findings:

The autopsy revealed linear electric contact wounds encircling both wrists.
Additional electrical burns were present on both hands.
The method simulated judicial electrocution, indicating a deliberate and unusual approach.

Implications:

This case underscores the critical need for parental supervision and monitoring of children's behavior.
It highlights the importance of recognizing and addressing self-destructive behaviors in adolescents.
