    • BPH frequently co-occurs with arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus, coronary heart disease, and metabolic syndrome, suggesting shared etiological factors.

    Discussion:

    • Acute urinary retention is a primary complication of BPH, often triggered by chronic prostatitis, circulatory decompensation, or alcohol abuse.
    • Elderly patients with comorbid conditions, especially chronic alcohol intoxication, face a poorer prognosis with BPH complications.
