The 7-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (7vPCV) significantly reduced invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) in Indigenous children and adults in North Queensland. However, an increase in non-7vPCV serotype IPD in adults warrants further investigation and newer vaccines.
