  • Retrospective review of 79 patients with DFSP treated between 1990-2005 (38 with WLE, 41 with MMS).
  • Systematic search of the PubMed database for case series of DFSP treated with WLE or MMS.
  • Meta-analysis of recurrence proportions from both the institutional cohort and literature data.

Main Results:

  • In the institutional cohort, 13.2% of WLE patients experienced recurrence versus 0% of MMS patients.
  • Pooled analysis revealed significantly lower recurrence rates for MMS (1.3%) compared to WLE (20.7%).
