Summary

Thymoma is linked to autoimmune diseases. Surgical removal of thymoma led to the regression of paraneoplastic pemphigus, highlighting the importance of autoantibodies in thymoma-associated skin conditions.

Observation:

A case report details a 42-year-old woman whose initial presentation of thymoma was paraneoplastic pemphigus.
The patient underwent transsternal complete thymoma resection.

Findings:

Complete thymoma resection resulted in the regression of paraneoplastic pemphigus.
Autoantibodies play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of paraneoplastic skin diseases in patients with thymoma.
