Summary

A new self-adhering mesh for hernia repair significantly reduced operative time and showed excellent integration in an animal study. This prosthesis offers a promising alternative to traditional stapled fixation, potentially lowering costs and reducing post-operative pain.

  • Self-adhering mesh implantation was significantly faster (23 min vs. 31 min) and handling time was reduced.
  • Excellent macroscopic and microscopic integration, with no shrinkage, mobilization, or migration observed.
