Abstract:
Morphological and functional features as well as cooperative relations of Kupffer's cells, endotheliocytes, lipocytes and pit-cells under normal and pathological conditions delineated in the literature are reviewed. It is shown that liver sinusoid cells protect the parenchyma, control hepatocyte regeneration, take part in the antitumor immunity, participate in the metabolism of lipids, lipoproteins, proteins, biogenic amines and collagen while the cooperative interaction between them and hepatocytes determines an interhepatic homeostasis.
