Summary

Polyphosphate assays using polyphosphate kinase (PPK) may underestimate short-chain polyphosphates in arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. Yeast exopolyphosphatase (PPX) assays are more sensitive to shorter polyphosphate chains, offering a better detection method.
