Summary
This study found that circulating Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) was not detectable in pigs experiencing hemorrhage or blunt injury, suggesting it does not play a major role in the resulting shock. Fluid resuscitation effectively restored blood pressure and cardiac output.
