Intensive lipid lowering with simvastatin and ezetimibe in aortic stenosis

This study found that simvastatin and ezetimibe did not prevent aortic stenosis progression or cardiovascular events. However, the combination therapy did reduce ischemic cardiovascular events in patients with aortic stenosis.

- Simvastatin and ezetimibe combination therapy did not reduce the composite outcome of aortic valve and ischemic events in patients with aortic stenosis.
- The therapy effectively reduced ischemic cardiovascular events but did not impact aortic-valve stenosis-related events.
- Increased cancer incidence was observed with simvastatin-ezetimibe treatment.
