Age-trend-related differences in tasks involving conjunctive probabilistic reasoning.

The conjunction fallacy in probabilistic reasoning may stem from misinterpreting task demands. As age increases, children and adults better distinguish between superordinate and subordinate classes in probability judgments, improving accuracy when fewer conjunctions are present.
