Abstract:
Systems and procedures for locking doors after hours to prevent criminal and other intrusions may not necessarily provide the security they promise even if they are found operational during officer rounds. The authors describe an inspection program involving security and engineering which is used at their medical center to anticipate and test for the many unforeseen things which can compromise door security.
