[Studies on identification of Sedum emarginatum]

Objective:
To establish methods for identification of the whole plant of Sedum emarginatum Migo.
Methods:
Macroscopic and microscopic observation and FTIR technique were used to authenticate this crude drug, and the identification characteristics were studied.
Results:
The stem cross section and the whole plant powder had some notable micro-characters. The infrared spectras of the samples collected in the different habitats and seasons were very consistent with each other.
Conclusion:
The results can be used as the evidence for identification of this ethnomedicine.
