The Aim:
To present our experience with endoscopic intradetrusor injections of botulinum-A toxin.
Material And Methods:
Endoscopic treatment was proposed for children in which no improvement or side effects were observed. Botulinum-A toxin was injected in 25 children 3 to 7 years old. All children were evaluated with voiding-charts, in all of them urodynamic investigations were also performed in the pre and post-procedure period.
Results:
Increased bladder volume was found in 18 patients, in 5 children bladder volume decreased. No major side effects were noted post BTX injections.
Conclusions:
Botulinum-A toxin in useful in children with neurogenic bladder overactivity.
