Subclinical hypothyroidism, characterized by high thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) with normal thyroid hormones, may cause subtle symptoms and risks. Treatment decisions for mild cases should be individualized, with thyroxine therapy recommended for TSH levels above 10 mIU/L.
