Abstract:
Organofluorine compounds have attracted special attention in the field of drug discovery because of their unique properties that make them important in biomedicinal research. Fresh attention has been given to the synthesis and application of safe and selective fluoroalkylation reagents and these novel methodologies offer promise of convenient synthetic protocols to prepare many organofluorine compounds. This review discusses recent advances in nucleophilic and electrophilic fluoroalkylation methods and their application in the synthesis of various biologically important compounds.
