[Autotransplantation with mesh grafts in extensive burns]

Proceeding from experience with 667 operations during the past 9 years in patients with burns affecting more than 20 percent of the body surface, the author analyses the importance and frequency with which reticulate autografts are used. The advantages of manual and mechanically perforated grafts are compared. The decisive importance of this type of grafts in the operative treatment of large-scale burns is emphasized.
