Determination of d-biotin at the microgram level
Abstract:
The iodate formed in the reaction of d-biotin with periodate is determined by reacting it with iodide and titrating the iodine with thiosulphate (to determine 90-950 mug of biotin), or the tri-iodide is measured spectrophotometrically to determine 20-80 mug of the test compound. Excess of periodate is masked with molybdate.
