Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) does not significantly improve kidney function or reduce proteinuria in IgA nephropathy (IgAN) patients. Current evidence does not support its routine use in IgAN treatment.

- Four RCTs with a total of 168 patients met the inclusion criteria.
- MMF treatment did not demonstrate statistically significant reductions in proteinuria.
- MMF did not show significant benefits in protecting renal function for IgAN patients.
Conclusions:
- Existing evidence does not support the routine administration of MMF for IgAN.
- Larger, international collaborative studies are recommended to further investigate MMF's role in IgAN.
