Understanding patient information needs is crucial for effective online health resources.

Purpose of the Study:

To identify the specific types of information radiotherapy patients expect from Internet-based educational resources.
To analyze how these information expectations evolve during the course of radiotherapy.
To inform the development of tailored online patient education platforms.

Main Methods:

A longitudinal study collecting questionnaire data from radiotherapy patients at three stages of treatment.
Utilized descriptive statistics and content analysis for data interpretation.
Achieved response rates of 67% in stage 1, with high completion rates in subsequent stages.

Main Results:

Patient knowledge expectations were categorized into four types, with a preference for specific information.
Highest expectations were for biophysiological, functional, and social information.
Lowest expectations were for experiential, ethical, and financial information, with variations observed during treatment.

Conclusions:
