Summary

Ureteral fistulas, rare after nephrectomy, can occur as ureterocutaneous fistulas. This report details two such cases and their successful surgical resolution.

Background:

Ureteral fistulas commonly arise from gynecological, digestive, or reconstructive urologic surgeries.
Various types include ureterovaginal, ureteroduodenal, ureterocolonic, ureteropleural, and ureterovascular fistulas.

Observation:

Ureterocutaneous fistulas originating from the ureteral stump post-nephrectomy are exceptionally rare.
This study presents two unique cases of this unusual complication.

Findings:

Both reported cases of ureterocutaneous fistula post-nephrectomy were successfully treated with surgical intervention.
Surgical resolution is a viable option for this rare ureteral complication.

Implications:

Highlights the possibility of ureterocutaneous fistulas post-nephrectomy, despite their rarity.
Emphasizes the effectiveness of surgical management for these unusual fistulas.
Contributes to the understanding of rare complications in upper urinary tract reconstructive surgery.
