  • Two groups were compared: cemented and uncemented acetabular components.
  • Deviations from planned inclination, version, and leg length were quantified and analyzed.
  • Main Results:

    • Uncemented cups showed significantly higher rates of deviation (≥5 degrees) in both inclination (20%) and version (35%) compared to cemented cups (P = .048 and P = .003, respectively).
    • A significant difference in deviation from planned leg length was observed between the cemented and uncemented groups (P < .001).
    • No cemented cups deviated by 5 degrees or more from the target inclination or version.

    Conclusions:

    • Cemented acetabular components demonstrate superior reproducibility in placement accuracy compared to uncemented components during THA.
    • The observed differences in placement accuracy may contribute to the higher revision rates for dislocation associated with uncemented components.
    • Hip navigation is a valuable tool for assessing and improving the precision of acetabular component positioning in total hip arthroplasty.
