Enzymatically hydrolyzed low-density lipoprotein modulates inflammatory responses in endothelial cells

Modified low-density lipoprotein (LDL) unexpectedly inhibits NF-kappaB activation in endothelial cells, while activating AP-1. This suggests a novel mechanism for protecting the vessel wall from lipoprotein accumulation.
