Symptomatic nerve root changes on contrast-enhanced MR imaging after surgery for lumbar disk herniation

Postoperative nerve root changes on contrast-enhanced MRI, particularly nerve root enhancement (NRE), are significantly associated with residual or recurrent pain after lumbar surgery. These findings aid in diagnosing persistent symptoms following disk herniation treatment.
