Hypoadiponectinemia: a risk factor for metabolic syndrome.

- Hypoadiponectinemia is an independent risk factor for the development of metabolic syndrome.
- Insulin resistance is also an independent risk factor for metabolic syndrome development.
- These findings underscore the importance of monitoring adiponectin levels and insulin sensitivity in metabolic syndrome risk assessment.
