    Area of Science:

    • Plastic Surgery
    • Reconstructive Surgery
    • Aesthetic Surgery

    Background:

    • Various mastopexy techniques exist, aiming for ideal breast position and shape.
    • Existing methods include cutaneous reduction, dermal flaps, and mesh implants.
    • The search for optimal breast lift procedures continues.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To describe a novel dermoglandular hammock flap technique for mastopexy.
    • To achieve optimal breast position, shape, and scar quality.
    • To evaluate early- and long-term patient outcomes.

    Main Methods:

    • A superior pedicle dermoglandular flap was raised and transposed.
    • The flap was secured as a hammock to the pectoral fascia.
    • Wedge-shaped defects were closed with absorbable sutures to reduce tension.

    Main Results:

    • Twenty-eight patients (ages 19-58) underwent the procedure.
    • All patients achieved adequate breast shape and projection.
    • Excellent scar quality was noted, with one case of partial suture dehiscence and two of temporary hypertrophy.

    Conclusions:

    • The dermoglandular hammock flap technique yields satisfactory breast position and shape.
    • Good quality, well-placed scars and long-lasting results were observed.
    • The technique is simple, preserves breastfeeding potential, and is suitable for moderate ptosis.
